protect the personal data of all partners and follows the guidelines
of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the
new German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Storage and Processing of Personal Data
When this site is accessed and used, we record connection-related data
(date and time of the visit, IP address used, browser type and operating system,
pages visited and the referring site) as well as device data.
When you register with the site, we collect your title or form of address, first name,
last name, street address and contact data (e-mail address, telephone number).
This data is only requested and stored when you ask us to send you informational material
or demos, for example, or register for our newsletter (more details below).
Cookies
Cookies are small text files which are stored in your browser so that we can obtain
the statistical information mentioned above. For example, we record which pages
are visited, which language preference you have and which documents you download.
Personally identifiable information is not stored in this context.
Recipient of your data in the sense of Art. 13. para. 1. e) DSGVO is Usercentrics GmbH. In the context of order processing, Empolis Information Management GmbH transmits personal data (consent data) to Usercentrics GmbH, Sendlingerstr. 7, 80331 Munich as a processor. Consent data means the following data: Date and time of the visit or consent / refusal, device information. The processing of the data is carried out for the purpose of compliance with legal obligations (obligation to provide evidence pursuant to Art. 7 (1) DSGVO) and the associated documentation of consents and thus on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. c) DSGVO. Local storage is used to store the data.

Specifically, session and permanent cookies are used. You can decide which cookies you wish
to accept when you visit the site in the cookie popup. Cookies are easily deleted from
your computer and removed from your browser.
EU-US Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework
As part of the “Data Privacy Framework” (DPF), the EU Commission has recognized the level of data protection for certain companies from the USA as secure within the framework of the adequacy decision of 10.07.2023. The list of certified companies as well as further information on the DPF can be found on the website of the US Department of Commerce at https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/.
Newsletters and Webinars
To manage our newsletters, we use Active Campaign. Our agreement with
these US-based companies includes data privacy clauses that are standard
in the European Union.
You can easily cancel your subscription to the newsletter at any time using the link at
the end of every e-mail. The associated data are then deleted.
We analyze the click rates for the newsletter in order to make future articles
more interesting for our subscribers.
The data you provide for the newsletter subscription is not combined with other data.
To organize and conduct webinars, we use the tools GoToWebinar and LogMeIn.
Our agreements with these US-based companies again include data privacy clauses
that are standard in the European Union.
The data collected in this context is deleted when the webinar is over,
unless you have granted us permission
to continue using it, or consent to such use was given in a different context
(newsletter, business relationship).
Use and Disclosure of Personal Data
Empolis uses your data to supply or provide access to the information desired and to evaluate the statistics
described above for the purpose of providing content on our pages that matches your interests.
We do not disclose your personal data to third parties, nor do we use it for any other purpose.
Empolis employeesare required to maintain the confidentiality of your data.
IT service providers commissioned by us, as well as our own employees,
are contractually obliged to abide by the law in dealing with your data and to maintain the confidentiality
of your data.
We adhere strictly to the data use and processing laws and regulations dictated by the BDSG and DSGVO.
Your Rights
You have according to. Art. 16 DSGVO the right to request the completion of the data
concerning you or the correction of incorrect data concerning you.
You are free to decide which information you provide to us.
If your data has changed or if you wish to change it, you can inform us by sending
an email to info(at)empolis.com so that we can correct the data accordingly.
In addition to this right of rectification, you have a right of access to how and
whether we process your data in question, in accordance with Art. 15 DSGVO.
You have the right to request that data in question be deleted without undue delay
in accordance with Art. 17 DSGVO or, alternatively, to request restriction of the processing
of the data in accordance with Art. 18 DSGVO.
Furthermore, you have the right to revoke given consents according to Art. 7 (3)DSGVO with
effect for the future. You may object to the future processing of data relating to you at any time
in accordance with Art. 21 DSGVO. (see below), a right to erasure, rectification and opposition.
These result from the articles 15 – 18 DSGVO.
Consents already given for the storage of personal data
can be revoked by you at any time.
Should you wish to lodge a complaint, a complaint must
be lodged with the competent supervisory authority.
Image processing of event photos and videos
By participating in an event (co-)organized by Empolis, you agree that recordings
(in particular photos and videos) of you during the event may be made and possibly published
(e.g. on websites, social media channels, in flyers, in event apps, etc.). Portrait photos will not be published;
these are generally shots in which the audience and participants can be seen as “standers-by”
or shots that show several participants (e.g., during an exchange).
If you would like to have individual shots or scenes, in which you can be seen, deleted, please inform the
organization team and/or photographer/videographer during the event or contact us via email
at info@empolis.com to do so. Please note that deletion may not be possible in certain cases
(especially in the case of video recordings of lectures or print materials that have already been printed).
In such cases, however, we will endeavor to find a joint solution.
Access from the United Kingdom
Currently, personal data of users from Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom Great Britain will
continue to be processed in accordance with the GDPR guidelines and the TTDSG. According to the first draft of
the European Union adequacy decision, the use of personal data in compliance with the GDPR is permitted.
